blog - this is because I have been living & working out of the area, & due to the job my time out
& about with nature in Hemel is limited. I am working on a new blog to come soon & hope that the work that has gone into HEMEL NATURE will prove useful & interesting to those still visiting it.

There have been barn owls there for many years. A few years back I nearly ran one over that was feeding in the lane by the footpath to the woods. At this time of year you can often see them by Highpark Wood usuall heading to the buildings in the horse paddock.

I had my suspicions as I have seen reports here & there of Barn Owls at or not far from that area in the past, & some of the rough fields dotted between the crop fields look ideal hunting grounds. I have just not been able to connect with one so far there, only much further along the Leighton Buzzard Road. Thanks for the info, I really appreciate that. Kind Regards, Dan.
