There are more reports of WAXWINGS in Hemel today: 2 at the Windmill Road / Lower Yott junction in Adeyfield, & 7 at Buncefield near the oil depot (via Herts Bird Club). Prepare for lots of sightings over the weekend & get out there before the berries go!

Only my second record of GOOSANDERS in Hemel & in consecutive Winters, & as far as I know, the largest group (5) so far in Herts this Winter. This is only the third record I know of in the Hemel area after seeing 3 together over the same area last Winter, & Colin Everett finding a 'Redhead' Female at Kings Langley Fishery in December 2010.
